“Night Speak” will mark the third full-length album from the SAMA-winning duo. Written over the course of the long pandemic year, yet recorded in just one week, the album reaches backwards and forwards through time, deeply infused with a personal history captured in sound. Embedded throughout the songs are a number of field recordings from significant moments in the band’s personal and collective history, including a recording of the pall bearer briefing at Devy’s father’s funeral, night sounds from the alley behind the restaurant where Devy and Strauss worked together and met for the first time, and the sound of rain on the roof of the house where they made their first album. The result is a deeply personal offering – a love letter to the lost and found, and to one another.
